T H E C H A L L E N G E – WEEK I
I was excited to read about the emergence of the digital world, evolving digital convergence and its impact on us (me) and the Skyscraper Model on Culture for which I have formed my own opinion on its legitimacy and effectiveness. Each subject stirs enormous conversation as they are intertwined in our daily habits whether we like it or not. They are measurements or explanations as to how we are consuming information and/or various mediums. Consequently, whether I agree with one or all theories on each subject doesn’t matter. Industry wise, they are a rule of thumb to begin the conversation although one is extremely biased (Skyscraper Model).
Organized, very detailed in nature and above all else, I give true respect to deadlines. However, I’ve taken on a challenge for which I’ve preached to so many.
“Continuously learn and constantly evolve chiseling daily until you have perfected the finished product.”
Sounds good but getting started has been a challenge. I must admit I am stumbling around in the dark right now with very few helpful lights in front of me.
My reflection on my first week, no matter how challenging is, digitally the world is moving faster than the speed of light and changing daily. My belief is that digital will not plateau but constantly emerge to meet the needs of its consumers. Digital convergence is a welcome blessing as it makes it convenient for one to get to any platform on serval devices and always pick up where we left off. It also allows us to cut down on the number of devices we need to grab as we run out the door — our cell phone will suffice. I am a total Apple user and I am presently writing my blog on my IPhone. Reflecting on this thought reminds me of my amazement visiting The Epcot Center as a young girl – “who would have thought so much was really possible.”
